15 week Pictures!

Well this past week I had my little 'pop' experience. I have been bloated for a while and have had the come and go belly experience but now I can officially feel my uterus (sorry guys) pushing out…no more bloat! So here comes the pictures!

We are soo excited to find out Tuesday what we are having! We aren't getting to tell my family until Wednesday night so I wont announce it until then!

Me and my mom went to a baby furniture store this weekend, made it feel more real…I kept falling in love with all of the little boy stuff they had there (wonder if that means something!!) It was great though to see all of the ideas so I can start looking for deals now…hello TJ Maxx and craigslist!!!

More to come later!!!

14 Weeks

How Far along? 14 weeks

Size of the Baby? a lemon :)

Maternity Clothes? Only maternity jeans…and bella bands! (same as last week!)

Gender? we find out in a week!

Movement? not any that I can feel yet

Sleep? Still great, me and DR went to the mountains for our one year and slept way too much. It was amazing! We truly are trying to get in as much as possible now!

Cravings? Same as before, but majorly sour candy. Its bad- I never thought I could crave it more than I always have. Wrong.

Symptoms? Some heartburn at night and I can feel my uterus stretching so there is mild cramping...this is the week it supposedly moves up and begins to poke into your stomach

What I miss? Playing volleyball...too bad I wasnt like Justines mom who played it up until she was about to bust!

Milestones? 2nd trimester!!

Weight Gain? Well when I went to the Dr. a few weeks ago it was 3lbs, but now I am back to the same weight I was when I started. I think its because I am on thyroid medicine and it is majorly speeding up my metabolism....

What I’m nervous about? still the sleep thing

What I’m excited about? Finding out what babyG is!!!

Baby Center Update for Week 14:

This week's big developments: Your baby can now squint, frown, grimace, pee, and possibly suck his thumb! Thanks to brain impulses, his facial muscles are getting a workout as his tiny features form one expression after another. His kidneys are producing urine, which he releases into the amniotic fluid around him — a process he'll keep up until birth. He can grasp, too, and if you're having an ultrasound now, you may even catch him sucking his thumb.
In other news: Your baby's stretching out. From head to bottom, he measures 3 1/2 inches — about the size of a lemon — and he weighs 1 1/2 ounces. His body's growing faster than his head, which now sits upon a more distinct neck. By the end of this week, his arms will have grown to a length that's in proportion to the rest of his body. (His legs still have some lengthening to do.) He's starting to develop an ultra-fine, downy covering of hair, called lanugo, all over his body. Your baby's liver starts making bile this week — a sign that it's doing its job right — and his spleen starts helping in the production of red blood cells. Though you can't feel his tiny punches and kicks yet, your little pugilist's hands and feet (which now measure about 1/2 inch long) are more flexible and active.

Pregnancy Update

Stealing this idea from Brittney Bolt!

How Far along? 12 weeks 5 days

Size of the Baby? a little Lime!

Maternity Clothes? Only maternity jeans…and bella bands!

Gender? we find out in 2 1/2 weeks!

Movement? Yes but its still too early for me to feel it- although we got to see himher in the 12 week ultrasound and heshe was breaking it down! So pretty soon I am sure I will feel lots!

Sleep? Wonderful! And taking full advantage of it while I can!

Cravings? Mexican, sushi (cooked), sour candy-pretty much everything I loved before is now magnified! I did have a pretty intense craving for Outback cheese fries the other day so my sweet hubby hopped on his motorcycle and took his backpack to pick me up some!

Symptoms? Some heartburn at night but other than that I am feeling good!

What I miss? A sip of cold Michelob Ultra

Milestones? Our last ultrasound BabyG looked like a baby and not a little bean
Weight Gain? 3 lbs

What I’m nervous about? no longer getting to sleep as much (i LOVE my sleep)

What I’m excited about? Finding out what babyG is!!!

Baby Center Update for Week 12:
The most dramatic development this week: reflexes. Your baby's fingers will soon begin to open and close, his toes will curl, his eye muscles will clench, and his mouth will make sucking movements. In fact, if you prod your abdomen, your baby will squirm in response, although you won't be able to feel it. His intestines, which have grown so fast that they protrude into the umbilical cord, will start to move into his abdominal cavity about now, and his kidneys will begin excreting urine into his bladder.
Meanwhile, nerve cells are multiplying rapidly, and in your baby's brain, synapses are forming furiously. His face looks unquestionably human: His eyes have moved from the sides to the front of his head, and his ears are right where they should be. From crown to rump, your baby-to-be is just over 2 inches long (about the size of a lime) and weighs half an ounce.

Our miracle

Many of you know this but for those who do not, me and DR lost our first baby back in March. We actually found out we were pregnant the same week Kristy and Kirk did so it was not an easy thing, however I don’t want to spend a lot of time sharing on that- I say that to give some background to what happened this time at 6 weeks. The Dr. had us come in at 5 weeks to get a look at everything because of what happened in the past and everything looked great. We were very excited but I was not surprised- the Lord had just given me a complete peace from the start of this pregnancy and I just knew that he had his protective hand over our family. So come 6 weeks I was at work and started bleeding. I won’t go into a ton of detail but will say that after going back and forth to the Dr. and how much blood I lost, and the pain I was in, I was pretty certain we had lost this baby. God has just been teaching me and DR about his healing hand and had really given us Psalm 91 in the previous weeks and it just kept coming back to us. DR just kept praying this over us and saying 'We ARE having this baby' What a blessing he was because I had started to lose hope. The entire chapter of Psalm 91 is amazing promises but especially these few verses…

4 He will cover you with his feathers.
He will shelter you with his wings.
His faithful promises are your armor and protection.
9 If you make the Lord your refuge,
if you make the Most High your shelter,
 10 no evil will conquer you;
no plague will come near your home.
11 For he will order his angels
to protect you wherever you go.
12 They will hold you up with their hands
so you won’t even hurt your foot on a stone.

A few different people passed this along to us after praying over our situation and we just clung to it as a direct promise from God. Needless to say after 4 appointments the Dr. was shocked that everything actually looked better than it had before the bleeding had started. I'm sitting there in amazement and all I can do is say 'Amen!!' Needless to say this baby is going to be headstrong and stubborn like his/her mama!!

Finding out...

First let me say that we definitely were not planning for this but were 'pleasently surprised' as people say. Before we got married we decided that if it was God’s timing for us to have a baby, it would happen no matter what so it took the pressure off of us. I was driving to Publix the night before and had this strange wave of nausea and thought ‘hmmm there is maybe a 5% chance that I am pregnant’
Now I say that because I have probably taken 50 pregnancy tests in our marriage. The first three months I was POSITIVE I was having major pregnancy symptoms and would take a test (or three just to be sure!) apparently the more you read about the symptoms, the more you have. Ha! Who knew! Ok so back to that night….

I didn’t think I was pregnant because I didn’t feel any different and I just didn’t think it was possible. I woke up the next morning and for some reason decided to take the test. I locked the bathroom door while DR was in the other bathroom showering and took the test. I only had one and it was dollar store, so when it had two pink lines I didn’t quite believe it. At this point DR is knocking on the door asking why it was locked so I threw it under the sink and let him in. I just didn’t want to tell him before work and without being sure...

So we head off to work and sit in our meeting, all the while I am freaking out just counting down the minutes for it to be over so I can go to the drug store and get another test. Its finally over and as I am about to sneak out DR finds me and says I am being weird. At this point I couldn’t hold it in anymore so I told him I had a positive test and was going to take another. Don’t get me wrong, DR was very excited, however we had JUST had the conversation two weeks earlier that we were happy where we were at and that we would be fine with waiting a year or two before kids sooo I was kind of worried about telling him, but he was great with it and clearly God had other plans! So needless to say the other 5 tests I took all had two pink lines that assured me I was indeed PREGNANT! So began our journey into parenthood…
