14 Weeks

How Far along? 14 weeks

Size of the Baby? a lemon :)

Maternity Clothes? Only maternity jeans…and bella bands! (same as last week!)

Gender? we find out in a week!

Movement? not any that I can feel yet

Sleep? Still great, me and DR went to the mountains for our one year and slept way too much. It was amazing! We truly are trying to get in as much as possible now!

Cravings? Same as before, but majorly sour candy. Its bad- I never thought I could crave it more than I always have. Wrong.

Symptoms? Some heartburn at night and I can feel my uterus stretching so there is mild cramping...this is the week it supposedly moves up and begins to poke into your stomach

What I miss? Playing volleyball...too bad I wasnt like Justines mom who played it up until she was about to bust!

Milestones? 2nd trimester!!

Weight Gain? Well when I went to the Dr. a few weeks ago it was 3lbs, but now I am back to the same weight I was when I started. I think its because I am on thyroid medicine and it is majorly speeding up my metabolism....

What I’m nervous about? still the sleep thing

What I’m excited about? Finding out what babyG is!!!

Baby Center Update for Week 14:

This week's big developments: Your baby can now squint, frown, grimace, pee, and possibly suck his thumb! Thanks to brain impulses, his facial muscles are getting a workout as his tiny features form one expression after another. His kidneys are producing urine, which he releases into the amniotic fluid around him — a process he'll keep up until birth. He can grasp, too, and if you're having an ultrasound now, you may even catch him sucking his thumb.
In other news: Your baby's stretching out. From head to bottom, he measures 3 1/2 inches — about the size of a lemon — and he weighs 1 1/2 ounces. His body's growing faster than his head, which now sits upon a more distinct neck. By the end of this week, his arms will have grown to a length that's in proportion to the rest of his body. (His legs still have some lengthening to do.) He's starting to develop an ultra-fine, downy covering of hair, called lanugo, all over his body. Your baby's liver starts making bile this week — a sign that it's doing its job right — and his spleen starts helping in the production of red blood cells. Though you can't feel his tiny punches and kicks yet, your little pugilist's hands and feet (which now measure about 1/2 inch long) are more flexible and active.

  1. ooh! i may be swinging my vote from blue to pink! Me and you are so much alike, from the food we eat to the sleep we have to have... I always love sour candy (all candy) but i craved it SO BAD until about week 16. I ate SO MUCH candy weeks 11-16! And you know I'm having a girl :)
